El Monte Sagrado Offers Couples Choice of Green Weddings and Honeymoons in Taos, New Mexico
Resort receives Editor’s Pick for Eco-Savvy Ceremonies & Honeymoons
TAOS, NM – The AAA Four-Diamond El Monte Sagrado Living Resort and Spa offers couples planning a wedding or honeymoon the chance to celebrate the start of a new life together in an environmentally-responsible way, without sacrificing elegance and style. This luxury resort combines grace, cultural awareness and a sincere commitment to environmental sustainability.
As a result of El Monte Sagrado’s dedication to the environment, Portovert Magazine (pronounced porto-vair), the first and only magazine for eco-savvy brides and grooms, chose El Monte Sagrado as one of its “editor’s picks” for ceremony locations and honeymoon destinations. Portovert Magazine offers its readers beautiful, inspired, smart wedding ideas that support an environmentally and socially conscious lifestyle.
Planning a green wedding at El Monte Sagrado does not involve any extra effort on the couple’s part. Included in the resort’s commitment are the following items:
El Monte Sagrado’s executive chef selects locally grown and organic produce and other foods when available.
A geothermal system heats and cools 35% of the resort’s guestrooms and all of the public spaces.
The in-house horticulturist uses only green flowers grown without harmful chemicals and pesticides.
Real linens, dishes, glassware and flatware are used – nothing is disposable.
Green flowers are used as cake decorations rather than plastic toppers.
The event planners at El Monte Sagrado will provide a vendor list for wedding favors that produce organic, local and/or wild crafted items, such as personal care products, candles, herb bundles and teas.
